Sakuya from Okami

Besides the FACT that Okami is a amazing game I just fell in love with Sakuya's design. Probably the best part is that the Okami design lets you play around with her costume so much.. and its all still somewhat accurate! LOL. Her costume I adapted a little; my concept was a adapted kimono that would inspire the actual artwork of okami.. ie. what the muse for sakuya might have looked like. Get it??

Her skirt was designed from a mermaid skirt pattern. I did the sleeves/jacket and obi in a free form patter. The leaves I molded off a bra I already owned. The wig was one of my short wigs and I simply took two bundles of black hair extensions and clipped them inside the wig. The gold and purple details on the costume are mostly chiffon and silk... and again, I hated the chiffon. The flowers in my hair I didn't get a very good pics of but they were bought and I made some leaves out of green fabric to make it a little more artsy.

These pictures were done with my usual photographer Cristina from WisnerPhoto.. because we make magic happen :)
